Open for offers

Up for sale is a meticulously restored Bally Elektra.
This was a complete tear down to the last screw.
The playfields are the first edition Outside Edge Hard Tops.
The plastics are all new, CPR.
All lamp sockets below the head were replaced with Yoppsicles or #44 LEDs.
The ramps were replaced with new stainless steel ones.
All mechs were re-built and the metal clear coated for rust prevention.
The external armor, legs, and coin box were professionally powder coated by CSC.
Both coin mechs work, easy setup for coin op.
The original cabinet was striped and painted using Pinball Pimp stencils.
In the back box all boards are original except the lamp driver. (replaced single side Bally org)
Many connectors re-pinned and headers replaced, sound board was re-capped.
On the CPU the game ROMs were updated to newest version and the coin cell battery board added. (added software free play mod as well)
The big heat sink/regulator on the driver board was replaced by PSU5.
There are just too many great things to go on about, so I'll let the pics talk.
Cash sale, no trades.

Pictures of the cabinet are.. ok. But, I would suggest maybe putting some close up pictures of this meticulously restored playfield. Upper playfield? Preferably with the glass off. I mean, you ARE trying to sell the most expensive Elektra ever and your pictures only highlight the boards and the cabinet. If you are letting the pics talk, all they say is look at my cabinet restoration skills.

Here is a picture of the Hard Tops.
I was very happy with the results.

That’s cool. Did you come across any alignment problems with the upper and the ramps since it was never meant to have an overlay/hardtop?

Also, what’s up with the rubber across
The captive ball on the upper playfield? That doesn’t look right at all. Where does the backside of the rubber stretch around? The front of the captive ball is supposed to be exposed there.

You obviously put a ton of work into this game and it shows. Looks beautiful!

I used a piece of HT material under the ramps to shim up the ramps to the HT level.

From my research that was the proper placement of the rubber around posts.
I checked that against the original marketing flyer and that is the way it was done.
Here is a post with a better look at that Hard Tops.

Quoted from Budwin:

This game looks way different when all three PFs and plastics colors all match.
Feeling really good finally about this one getting finished..... [quoted image][quoted image]

Thanks, my estimate is about 150-200 hours labor.
Good thing I'm not trying to make a living at this....

Nice to see an Electra with an upper playfield that isn't blown out. I had no idea Outside Edge was producing a hardtop for this.

People who have never done a complete full restore like this have no idea how long it takes. Looks really nice. You did a great job on this one. GLWS

That's wild. I have played a dozen Elektras over the years and can honestly say that I have never encountered one with that rubber on it. Still, it does show it in the flyer. I looked it up the manual because you peaked my curiosity and it looks like it does call for a 4inch rubber there [H]! Crazy.

I did a quick search on the internet and could not find another Elektra playfield that had that 4" rubber installed. I guess operators just didn't see the need to protect those plastic corners or, never stocked 4 inch rubber rings.

Also of note, your game has the clear standups. Those were only on the first run of games produced. It was found that they break more easily and after the first run of games, Bally switched over to the standard plastic stand-ups. I always thought the translucent ones were cool as hell because a lot of light gets trapped in them making them "glow".

Where did you get those "red lamp tubes" behind the center 3-bank standups?

I got those red tubes at Marco or Pinball Life.

The clear targets came from the previous owner. (they are cool for sure)
