This game has been impeccably restored over a 2+ year process.
Many new parts. Nothing was overlooked. It has a new CPR playfield and CPR backglass/translite. The cabinet and head were completely reconstructed out of new 7 layer birch plywood. The paint was all painstakingly redone including repainting the apron, cabinet and head. New PF glass, legs, feet, side rails, lockdown bar and coin door.
Since the 6 drop targets are the key components to advancing through the game, they have to work perfectly. Because of that, everything relating to the drop targets has been replaced with new parts whether it needed it or not. Including both drop target opto boards, 6 new drop targets w/decals plus all new hardware including springs, grommets and washers to make both drop target banks work smoothly.
So many new parts! Both flippers were rebuilt, the coils were changed to the most powerful BLUE coils so getting up the steep "cup ramp" isn't a problem on this game. Even the Williams serial number stickers and orange warning decals on the rear of the back-box were painstakingly recreated. The head locking clasp is new as well.
As an added precaution, the game was gone over by the local pinball repair guy on 08/19/20. He sorted out a few small issues. It is working 100% and reliable.
After the restoration, the game was kept 100% incandescent lighting to be true to the era. I found the playfield inserts to be needing a bit brighter light so I added comet 2smd warm LEDs to all the inserts. The Gi (general illumination) & flashers were left completely incandescent. The game looks fantastic as is or it could be quickly converted back to 100% incandescent bulbs as it was when it left the Williams pinball factory 30 years ago. Or you could go full LED. It's your call.
I've posted a few pics in this listing but if you want to see many more pics & how this game was transformed during the 2+ year restoration, go read the posts & look at all the photos on the 4 page, 2.5 year long thread on pinside here --- https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/diner-restoration-1
You are encouraged to pick up this game yourself in person. I will not personally pack this or set up shipping. If you aren't local, you are welcome to setup your own shipping. I recommend uship or STi or Fastenal.
The Taxi in the photo was also restored by the same gentleman. It is for sale right now on pinside. Might trade for newer stern, spooky, JJP or american pinball game with cash up or down.
