Game - for sale

For sale: Diamond Plate Diner

Added: 2017-11-17 01:57:28 UTC • Ended: December 3rd, 2017
Condition: Partially shopped/refurbished

Price

$ 2,850

Diamond Plate Diner with lots of new parts. new plastics, plastic protectors, LED's including flashers, star posts, rubbers, flipper bats, balls, drop target decals, glass, legs, levelers. i removed the ramps and polished with auto headlight restoration compound; look great. rebuilt the shooter. remote battery pack installed. cabinet protectors under the legs. cliffys on order. i'll ship to you, once i receive. instruction/pricing cards in the cabinet. two manuals; other stuff.

cabinet and coin door are pretty nice. playfield is fine. shooter lane is good. a little insert wear across the middle. raised rush insert is worn down a bit. ball groove across the top. no bubbled mylar or discolored lacquer like a typical Diner, however. backbox and boards look great. all coils and flashers fire as they should. plays smooth; fun game.

trades are cool. check out my wishlist. will not ship; cash in hand only. more details in the forum topic:

Bump for a great game. Looks clean. GLWS.

Very nice Diner!

#4 6 years ago

thanks, guys. i got this in a trade. the only system 11 i've ever owned. most i don't look twice at. cabinets and playfields are usually horrible. this was too nice to pass up, however.

i believe i was told it was found in a ladies basement. it was played dirty, hence the playfield wear. needed shopped, which i enjoy doing. i love seeing the transformation. had it basically down to the wood. cleaned it up nice.

it has all or most of the original paperwork. inside cabinet looks great. i don't think it has a ton of miles on it. flippers were strong day one. just replaced cracked bats. again, not like the usual system 11 disasters i see.

new plastic set came with keychain plastic and coaster, too.

Unless I'm misatken, the pictures are not from a Diamond Plate.

#7 6 years ago

It says diamond plate on the playfield

#8 6 years ago

Sorry, you are right.

#10 6 years ago

thanks, guys. getting some good offers. shouldn't be available long, but could be wrong. you know how it goes.

#11 6 years ago

If I was in the market, I would definitely be taking a look at this one. Surprised it's still available.

Diner seems to be kind of a funny (or odd) machine when it comes to selling them. It seems like everyone is looking for one and they are hard to find until you have one for sale - then it seems to take forever to find a local buyer.

We had a nice one for sale last year and it took me several tire kickers before I actually found a buyer. The crazy thing is ours was fairly nice overall yet the buyer bought it to fully restore it?

In any event - at your price you will find a buyer but it might not happen as quickly as you would expect.

i agree. i think because of the low production run you don't see them everywhere, so the title doesn't get a lot of publicity. plus, it's a mark ritchie pin, and he's one of those cult-following, under-the-radar designers. you can't argue with IJ, FT or Taxi, however. i highly recommend having a mark ritchie in your collection.

Let’s not forget Sorcerer! Mark Ritchie bump.

#18 6 years ago

yep, that was my first pin. had a FT, too.

I think the pause on this is the price combines with the raised and chipped inserts? If it was not for that, then i am guessing it would already be sold.

yeah, everyone wants their cake and eat it, too.

Yup.

Unfortunately raised inserts are something that can scare off buyers. I don't find them to be a big deal, but I am also not a typical buyer.

#22 6 years ago

i mean, i get it; it's not perfect. but what's a Diner with a newly installed playfield go for? $3500-4k? it's all good. i have room, for now...
