You forgot to mention the sales tax that you charge on all your games.

A good friend of mine offered him $3200 cash for his CSI today and Rob said there's sales tax on it. Which would've added another $200+ to the game so he turned it down.

This is complete bullshit, we are running a business and we like to think that we are super fair with everyone. I DO NOT CHARGE SALES TAX.. NEW YORK STATE CHARGES SALES TAX... We make NOTHING on sales tax. I refuse to get a lean on my business becuase of some asshole that refuses to pay tax.. Take that shit and your comments somewhere else. Everyone that picks up in my shop pays tax, and if you dont you better believe I am eating it and paying it myself. I am fucking sick of people complaining about tax. Go to the fucking home depot or best buy and tell them you dont want to pay tax.. see what they say.. Or go move somewhere that doesnt charge tax.. The only way you will not pay tax is if you ship out of state.

If anyone wants to see my quarterly tax payments let me know

You need to tell people you are a retail store that is advertising here. No retail stores generally do and NO ONE charges tax because it's usually cash and carry.

So yeah that's a bit odd.

Most locals know we have a store, and before anyone even thinks about coming here to pu, I tell everyone be prepared to pay tax Its not like they are coming and then out of the blue I say " oh and you gotta pay tax" it is always discussed prior to anyone coming It isnt discussed most of the time as we ship 80% of our games out of state.

Folks, it's a real business. It's not a bunch of us flipping games out of the garage. Nobody ever said differently.
We have a tax ID, legitimate payroll, you name it. Like most businesses, if you pick up something from us, it's taxable. If we ship out of the state or country, no tax.

It really shouldn't be something that needs to be stated. All of the other legit businesses charge taxes. And, as Rob said, it's not like they go towards steak dinners. The check gets cut to NY state.

If $200 is gonna make or break a deal, then the buyer doesn't really want it that bad. I paid $3200 almost a year ago for mine from a home seller in similiar shape which was a deal. They only made 500 of these.

I encourage everyone to move to Ontario Canada where we pay 13% tax on everything!!!! So on $3200US - I would pay $561 in tax if this was sold in Canada. Don't you New Yorkers feel better now... Consider it a deal, besides we are already paying for your damn hydro The guy has to run a business, not a non-profit organization. Gwaxt72 keep rocking on

I did business with Rob for the first time last year and I could not have been happier with the transaction. Everything was discussed up front and he even held a game for me with deposit on a sought after game. Also I want to mention that the game was better than described. HIS REPUTATION is solid among everyone I have networked with. I don't think he needs to defend himself at all. We should all be defending him that have had great business deals because of the machines he provides at great prices.

Great buying experiences from Gwaxt72 personally. All business charge tax for in state sales. My local arcade almost always tries to sell their games out of state so they don't have to deal with buyers complaining about tax.

#15 7 years ago

He owns a legit business, not selling out of his garage. Bought many from him and will again.

#16 7 years ago

I see no issues with anything. I had a game shipped to pittsburgh with no tax and was very happy with the transaction. If I wanted the game quicker I could have picked up and paid tax. You are either paying shipping or tax. Move along. Nothing to see here.

Its obvious the guy that wanted to buy it was going to flip it the tax money got in the way from him making any cash off of the machine. Also the guy must just be an asshole.

Oregon 0% sales tax

? That seems like a pretty big stretch. Trying to flip a 3200 CSI for profit that is worthwhile would prove pretty difficult, tax or no tax.

Also, most sellers do not charge sales tax on here. I've bought a number of machines from Rob in the past and tax never came up. So I would be surprised if tax came up. Nothing wrong with being surprised, and nothing wrong with Rob being legal.
