    Game - for sale

For sale: Creature from the Black Lagoon

    Added: 2021-05-24 16:13:00 UTC • Ended: May 25th, 2021
Condition: Used - shows wear but 100% working and clean

    Price

    $ 4,900 (Firm)

    Price is firm

    Item description

I just picked this up, I already have 2 in storage so I'm offering this as found for a good price to some lucky buyer. Game is 100% original. The diamond plate playfield is in beautiful condition. Needs to be cleaned, rubber, bulbs, etc. I have not done a thing to this unit, but it should be a 9 out of 10 when that is done. The only wear I could spot was a bit in front of the Movie Madness ramp. All the plastics are in nice shape with no cracks. Game reports and plays with no errors, working nearly 100%. The only issues aside from bulbs and such is the display has vertical lines, works perfect other than that. Hologram works but the lamp is out. Those are the only issues other than needing the standard recondition/service performed, plays perfect otherwise. Very clean boards, cabinet artwork is very nice with minimal flaws. No keys but coin door is open and backglass is already removed so you have full access to interior. One could restore this unit to near mint condition if desired. I can pack, pallet ($75)and ship this via freight truck and get good rates. If you have a business address or can pick up from a terminal its $150-$250 to most locations. You are welcome to book yourself, use STI/NAVL and of course local buyer is always preferred.

    Just at a glance:

Front of cabinet is badly faded.
Snack Bar hole is worn so much that the cliffy doesn't cover the wear.
Plastic above the Kiss hole is broken with a good part of it missing.
Front edge of Film plastic above snack bar hole has been screwed or riveted down (not normal).

But still a very good price for this title.

And with all that being said I messaged you about 1 minutes after you posted it that I would take it so check your PMs.

Regardless of cosmetic blemishes, this will go in a heartbeat at this price.

Meh, it’s still a smoking deal for a machine that could be made really nice if you put the effort in.

If my Congo had already sold I would have probably been right in there with you. Some issues are to be expected at this price point, and I'd expect a blue hologram too. A tinkerers machine for sure but also a great starting point for a players machine.

The ad may be over-embellishing things a bit, but it's priced fair for the condition and the current market. GLWS.

Wow. I’ll be driving through Windham this week on route to Frye Island. Wish I was in buying mode right now as I’d be coming home with this.

That’s probably why it’s $1000 cheaper than any other creature we’ve seen in a while.

This will sell in 20 minutes.

Okay, but at a glance, who asked you? Lol

The right price for one of these

Disagree, this is a great price for a fun game with a nice theme and artwork. Especially when games like Indiana Jones cost 10K and Congo's are reaching into the 4-5K's.

nope, I have owned a couple over the years. Somewhere between $4k and $5k is where these belong. I sold one for $5800 but only because it had floor to ceiling chrome. Simple and fun objectives and the rules get VERY repetitive really quickly. Mine would sit for months and not get played. Dust collector.

Drop a Pinsound in this bad-boy and go town with all those 50's songs.... Great deal here, ok who was the lucky SOB lol.

I've owned mine for 20 years and still enjoy it, would never consider selling it in the $4's. Been offered way more and haven't bit yet. Different strokes for different folks.

Fun to see a F/S thread trending and discover that it isn't for something priced absolutely bananas.

And still someone had to pointlessly whine about it.

Every for sale thread these days is going to bring some abuse for the seller, regardless. It’s just what we do now; it’s in the blood.
So the lesson here is May as well as for more.

Depends on the condition and mods done (and I'm not talking Cadillac Hallmark ornaments and LEDs here).

Mine has a CPR mirrored backglass, pinsider thompso9 's speaker panel taillight mod, pinsider 60Grit 's aftermarket light chase board for the main ramp and whirlpool lighting, new PPS hologram, ColorDMD, and an external power supply powering all the mods. No way on God's green earth mine would be between $4K-$5K.

Buyer be ready to ppppppppppppppppppppayyy up. It's gonna hurt!
