Item description

I am selling my high end restoration Williams Congo. This machine won best 90's Pinball Machine at the 2017 Texas Pinball Festival. I restored this machine over two years and added a few custom things to it. It would be hard to find an nicer Congo than this.

-fully restored and clear coated playfield
-new clear ramps
-new plastics
-plastic protectors from Indypinhead
-tasteful LED conversion with spotlights to help with visibility
-mirror blades
-Hippo Toy
-Fully rebuilt mechs
-Great Lakes Electronics flipper button boards
-Full black powder coat of armor, coin door and many interior pieces
-Upgraded 10" subwoofer
-Target decals
-Restored cabinet with new decals and clear coated
-Custom graphic on back of head
-Boards have been serviced and bullet proofed by local professional
-All coils under the playfield have had molex connectors installed for easy service.
-rebuilt gorilla mech'
-RED Led DMD
-Original Translite has a few blemishes, signed by designer. Will include new translite on request.

Pictures show a ColorDMD, but I am keeping that. The game plays wonderfully and has been dialed in. It is a fantastic game, but I think I am ready to move on and this would be a wonderful machine for the high end collector. I would prefer cash sale and for it to be picked up in person. Shipping can be arranged by the buyer if they prefer. I do not have the ability to pallet the game.

Please feel free to ask questions. I will add more photos of the cabinet this evening. I thought I had some on this computer. Here is the restoration thread for those that are interested. https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/congo-full-restorationcustomization-above-and-beyond

Nice suit. Game looks great.

#5 6 years ago

I was going to say great price but then noticed the color dmd wasn't included. Kind of a deal breaker.

#6 6 years ago

Very nice game. I really enjoyed it at TPF.

#7 6 years ago

At least you've dressed for the occasion.

#8 6 years ago

Great seller and game, I’ve played it personally. It really is pretty much a brand new machine.

#14 6 years ago

I had 3 congoes should i make it 4???glwts....congo john

This is a beautiful Congo, true collector quality. Well deserved award at TPF last year against some stiff competition. It plays great, and is better than new inside and out. I will miss being able to play it, but the new owner will be thrilled with it. Games of this caliber don't pop up for sale often. GLWS!

#19 6 years ago

Bump for a beautiful game! Anyone would be hard pressed to find a nicer Congo. GLWS!

How about a price drop $7500 or a GotG Premium in trade?

#21 6 years ago

Wow. Beautimous.
Nice gameroom Gov.

#22 6 years ago

What's the volcano look like? Tough to see in the photos. Many of the volcanos are cracked, chipped and I don't believe anyone has reproduced them and NOS volcano's are impossible to find.

Are the weldments all original? Or the new and improved ones developed by Mantis Amusements?

Thanks.

You can see detailed pics of the volcano and the repair in the restore thread. The chute is original but has been reinforced and will not bend.

Going to open this up to other trade offers. Whatcha got? Wouldn't mind trading for WOZ.

#28 6 years ago

killer looking game, can't believe it went for $7500 though, glad I bought one few years back.

#29 6 years ago

When you have a game this nice, people will pay for it because the reality is the supply of them in this condition is little to none. Congrats.

Did it go for full price? Alot of times pins sell for less than asking on here but its never posted. Then next time someone sells the same title (tho not as nice/restored) they ask crazy prices bc they see /think last ones sold for listed number. This is y pinside prices are usually the highest anywhere imo.

100% spot on.

What many on here also tend to not understand is that collectors of high end games will HAPPILY pay a fair price for a game they want in great condition.

Some people just sound stupid or iggnorant when they say something is overpriced without actually putting some numbers together or understanding how the HUO/ High End / Rare/ market works.

Just shooting from the hip on some numbers there are OVER 7k in parts alone. Plus you need to factor in time and skill!!!!

This may not be a 'named' restoration, but it is hella nice and obviously had lots of passion put into it. It also won at TPF which brings out some heavy hitters.

Base Game 3500
Restored clearcoated pf 1000 (IF you can find one for this game as they are very rare to find)
new clear ramps 150
new plastics 150
plastic protectors from Indypinhead 50
tasteful LED conversion with spotlights to help with visibility 200
mirror blades 80
Hippo Toy 20
Fully rebuilt mechs 80
Great Lakes Electronics flipper button boards 50
Full black powder coat of armor, coin door and many interior pieces 300
Upgraded 10" subwoofer 150
Target decals 30
Restored cabinet with new decals and clear coated 800
Custom graphic on back of head 50
Boards have been serviced and bullet proofed by local professional 300
All coils under the playfield have had molex connectors installed for easy service. 100
rebuilt gorilla mech' 100
RED Led DMD 200

It often takes a little longer to find the right buyer for a game of this calibur, but this was a DEAL at the price it was listed. Selling a game of this calibur/condition in a month is actually indicative that the seller priced it correctly for a quick sale.

#32 6 years ago

Sale price is up to buyer and seller to disclose as far as I am concerned, but I'm guessing based on the machine and the fact that the seller seemed to have the patience to wait for the right buyer that it likely did.

This is true, some games are so far above what the norm is...
Great summary...

#34 6 years ago

My Congo is no where near high end but still pumped a lot into it. New ramp, new plastics, leds, rubbers, board work, new mpu, and all the little stuff add up fast just to get the game looking decent and reliable. It's now on the short list of my favorite games. I would love to have a really nice restored one like this someday.
