Yep. I know quite a few guys with shockingly large collections of top tier titles. The only reason they were able to acquire those collections was because they got into the hobby 10+ years ago. There is no way your average joe could put together a collection like that today. It would cost a small fortune. The prices have become insane. I wish this wasn't the case, but it is. For some reason, certain people simply refuse to accept this fact (unless, of course, they have something to sell).
