for sale

For sale: Challenger

Added: March 18th, 2017 Re-listed: 2 times (July 7th, 2017) Ended: November 7th, 2019
Condition: Fully restored (full original status)

Item description

If you collect rare Gottlieb pinball machines, and the 2 player Challenger from 1971 is one that you have been looking for, make sure you keep reading!

Although the factory production number is listed at 110, word is that an additional 100 machines were made for a single buyer in Canada.

Even at that, the maximum number of machines that MAY have been built is 210 which STILL makes this a very rare machine.

Although one will occasionally surface that is for sale, if you’ve been looking for one, you know that they don’t come up very often.

This machine is mechanically shopped properly with all new playfield posts, pop bumpers, and everything has been checked and is working perfectly including bulbs.

The tilt motor has been serviced and this is a no excuse game.

The two marquee backglasses are newly reproduced and are as close to perfect as you can get.

This is a NICE looking playfield with strong colors and near perfect graphics and lettering.

All of the playfield plastics are in great shape with no cracks/breaks with bright colors.

The cabinet paint is original.

It has a few of the normal scratches here and there, but nothing major.

Please reply with your telephone number only as emails will not be replied to.

I had a Challenger at one point, along with the other three main head to head pins. Very cool game. This is only the second one I have ever seen for sale.

I also had exactly that line up a few years ago except I had Rat Race and Viza War beside them as well.
I've seen at least 9 different Challenger pins for sale over the years, it's a fun and unique game, completely different concept from the other head to head pins.

How is tilt handled on a two player machine?

Quoted from ALJO:

I think the playfield that tilts back and forth for each player's turn is a cool feature.
