Is the $1.25 worth of coins on the apron included?

Is this machine worth the high $$$

I had a Centaur and it did not last. Although the allure of this iconic game is attractive, when the price point starts creeping up near that newer games, the sale is really geared for the "must have" collector. That said, the game is worth what someone wants to pay and still active for a month implies that no one is willing to pony up the 4G at this time. I was lucky and I sold it for what I had into it.

I don't think luck had anything to do with it. Your game looked like it came off the showroom floor.

Looks like the cab has been repainted, or at least is a very nice original. Just as a data point, I sold my CPR-restored Centaur 3 years ago for $3300, and the cab was not great (although I did include stencils). I also sold it to a friend without trying to get more; I think I could have if I wanted to but I wanted a quick sale.

Between Centaur and Fathom, I decided to keep Fathom. I used my Centaur $$ to buy CSI, sold that 2 years later for Shadow, and then quickly sold that for POTC. I think I finally have a long-term keeper with POTC.

Centaur is one of the best '81 Bally pins, no doubt. I got tired of the "Bally brick" drop targets, but fixes are available for that.

I could help you with that problem...you have several titles I am looking for...let's start with Fathom

This game is worth $3500 plus all day. Same with Fathom.

Classic, awesome playing pinball games.

core games sell for 2k, then you add on 1500 in parts, and should factor in the labor to do the swap and refurb IMO.

I think 4k is actually on the low side for the effort put in and what appears to be a nice example.

I am half tempted to sell my game awaiting the time to resotr and buy this one.

Much agreed...once you get around $4K for a classic game...you have a lot of newer titles that warrant that price range.

I understand what you are saying, but there is a point that all the money in parts and labor will not justify the asking price unless you find a collector that REALLY wants the game for the higher price point. Like adding mods to newer games...just because you spent the money on them doesn't mean you will get full return.....my 2 cents

Another bump for OP

Centaur swap labor has one of the worst returns on investment I can imagine. I did my friend's Centaur, and I think I spent over 100 hours altogether (this included a lot of cleaning and polishing, of course). Swapping pretty much any classic game is going to net you about $5 an hour, if you're lucky. That's why I only swap what I plan to keep now (Medusa, Skateball and Mata Hari are in the queue).

Yes this is correct. I've swapped two Centaurs and the ball trough/under playfield launch mechanism will keep you up at night LOL. What a classic game from a golden era for Bally. Mine is with me for life. GLWTS!

Anybody near Lombard IL willing to properly pallet this machine for a nominal fee? I'll pay the seller his asking price for the game and make all the necessary shipping arrangements.
