I'm often guilty of this myself. I find that when I type fast, I type words the way they sound in my head, and don't catch it until I go back and proofread what I wrote. It's not just a misspelled word either, it can be a different word that sounds similar. There's probably some scientific term for it, though, which makes it okay.
