Have other BSD's been selling in this price realm recently?

Was this game HUO?

Quoted from cheshirefilms:

I am not comfortable to sell a game as HUO without an original factory receipt - but in my view its about as nice as it comes without a full restore.

Thats cool

I don't know about other BSD owners - I just can't imagine letting this classic pin slip out of my collection. I know "never say never," (and I'd sell if I had to for reasons outside of my control), but when you look at pinball these days, there's a really distinct delineation happening between pins that are truly collectable based on their uniqueness, natural age, and representation of an era... and those that are currently being manufactured, many of which are being manufactured in ways to force collectability.

Man, BSD just ticks off so many true collectability boxes, not to mention its a killer game.

Quoted from cheshirefilms:

I get it. I get get it. Everyone gets it. If I wanted to sell my game at the common rate my game is priced high. Not turning a profit here- I went in deep. Lots of options, high end original. Not for everyone.

You're teetering on the whole "should you get your money back for mods" debate... this particular game is going to have a very narrow appeal because you're looking to recoup. If the buyer chooses to sell soon, will they have the same luck? Who knows.

Quoted from o-din:

I've played a BSD without the lightning flippers and pretty much just walked away after dividing and conquering the game. It wasn't much fun or even a challenge.
Lightning flippers FTW!

Agree 100% with this. Better with them

#103 5 years ago
Quoted from Blitzburgh99:

Pinball Magazine that features Mark Ritchie discusses the lightening flippers that ended up on Fish Tales. That game was also designed for regular sized flippers. Williams had a very big buyer of games from France in that time period. When he came stateside to look at FT, he said the regular flippers gave too long of ball times for his market and asked that the center drain be widened. That would have changed design geometry so they compromised with the lightening flippers. They were supposed to be put on export games only, but when the game went to production they left them on domestic games too. This may have been same reason BSD got the lightening flipper treatment. The French distributor might have requested similarly like he did on FT. And as Paul Harvey would say....that is the rest of the story!
PS. This thread has to be the cheesiest marketing effort ever to over price/sell a game in pinball history. Worse than Imamculate Baywatch and even worse than the current Stern Beatles price pimp.

I think the big buyer was actually in Germany... no?
