Game - for sale

For sale: Bram Stoker's Dracula

Added: 2018-11-12 18:43:44 UTC • Ended: November 15th, 2018
Condition: Partially restored (almost original)

Price

$ 5,900

Gorgeous, rare unfaded BSD for sale which I've partially restored and upgraded with LED OCD and Pinsound. Nicest one I've ever seen. Been enjoying it all year, but I regularly cycle my games so its time to find this one it its next forever home. Most nice BSDs get bolted to the ground in collections as keepers- so keep that in mind. Game plays 100% with no errors. Not interested in trades at this time. Prefer a local sale, but for shipping, we would follow Vid's sellers guide for payment arrangements and ship via STI.

Here are the highlights:
-Alternate Translite
-Blood red translucent flipper buttons
-Blood red flippers
-Chrome Vinyl instruction cards- imported from Spain
-Chrome rails, legs, and lockdown bar- along with black leg protectors
-Chrome hinges with black powder
-No wrinkling around the cab protectors
-New ramp flaps
-Full moon rising effect on rebuilt pop bumpers- blue caps, comet rings, blue skirts
-New clear plastics
-Rebuilt flippers
-Remote battery holder
-Target decal set
-Outer ramp decal
-Upgraded mist board, installed
-Full cliffy set, installed
-LED strips under each major scoop
-LED OCD
-Pinsound
-Prototype slingshot plastics
-Full Cointaker LED kit

Cabinet- 9+ out of 10 condition- no fade/screen printed version
Playfield- 9+ out of 10 condition- coveted SP playfield- no planking
Ramps- 9+ out of 10 condition- no cracks

Pictured here are a number of removable options- available separately. I think the entire package is awesome and shouldn't be parted out- but I also realize that mods aren't to everyone's taste.

Optional Upgrades:
Laseriffic Topper $200
Color DMD $370
Pinball Customs Coffin Mod $175
Pinstadium with Neon Glow+Invisi-shield $280 [buyer did not buy]

Can vouch this one is MEAN...like a BSD should be.

#3 5 years ago

I’ll buy the coffin mod if buyer doesn’t want it.

#4 5 years ago

So, basically $6500 all in. Wowzers.

BSD is definitely one of the best. I've had a few. Would own it again in a heartbeat.

Yeah, I know. If I could strip it down further for the value crowd I would, it was my choice to go with Chrome, Pinsound etc etc- but hopefully it finds another owner who'd do it the same too, given the chance.

#6 5 years ago

A lot for a BSD but DAMN that is a sick looking BSD. Good luck.

Thanks. It was definitely my call to get in so deep on this one. But I'm proud of the result, and its been a total pleasure to own.

Did you replace the audio with a custom alt pinsound file?

#9 5 years ago
Quoted from adamross:

Both the original track and the movie inspired soundtrack are on the flash drive the Pinsound board uses. Easy to switch on the fly from the coin door

Have other BSD's been selling in this price realm recently?

No, but good for the seller. It's a lot better deal then a broken QS for 5k so there's at least that.

Quoted from 27dnast:

Every machine has been selling at high price points. Someone that wanted an incredible BSD got one, and was willing to pay up. Good for the seller.

#14 5 years ago

Nice. You get a trade or cash deal Brian? Looks sharp man!

#15 5 years ago

Great looking machine, someone is really fortunate!

Shit, mine will be now if I ever actually consider selling it.

#19 5 years ago

Straight up sale agreed to, no trade involved. High end collector.

Nice dude. Congrats. that went FAAAAST.

#22 5 years ago

Full disclosure first- I own a bsd.....now, By adding pinsound and color dmd this game more than any other is transformed into something truly awesome. Check you tube for Dracula pinsound, even there it doesn’t do it justice. I heard it in person at expo and was blown away. Worth every penny.

The seller found a buyer, and thats awesome. I wouldn't say the market is on fire because of this one sale. I have noticed the market softening a bit overall actually.

#24 5 years ago

Sweet... my bsd just went up.in value lol... i was gonna sell mine few months ago for 3500 and its very nice with color dmd and lots other stuff. Glad i didn't and i may add ocd board and pinsound now and it may get the h.e.p treatment. Its a excellent pin and in my top 3

completely agree. Market has definitely softened. Like every sale it just takes 1.

Yeah I would agree that it is soft for certain games (can't give away a Houdini - in fact newer games having a hard time) BUT older games in great shape I feel like have a very good market.

Seems right. New game values almost always seem to plunge these days, and I'll add a wrinkle- the A- list Bally Williams older titlr market has been pretty effectively disrupted by Chicago Gaming.

On the other hand, if you want an older "B+/B list" title in mint or minty shape, the supply on the market seems pretty thin and many times your only option to get a nice game may be to commission a restore.

#28 5 years ago

Congrats on the sale, and I agree that Pinsound and ColorDMD are exceptional on this game.

Where can that alternate translite be found?

It's still technically sale pending. Got another interested should buyer unexpectedly back out.

Ministry of Pinball is where I got the translite.

I never thought I'd see a BSD trade for Monster Bash $. Well done.

Nice looking. I wouldn't mind owning one of these for awhile at some point.

Was this game HUO?

#36 5 years ago
Quoted from 27dnast:

Was this game HUO?

I am not comfortable to sell a game as HUO without an original factory receipt - but in my view its about as nice as it comes without a full restore.

#37 5 years ago

Like not HUO being a reimport but still a nice example none the less

#38 5 years ago

Some of the nicest games I've seen are reimports

Who ever said they couldn't be nice? It could also be a domestic game too and someone just replaced the coindoor at one point.

#40 5 years ago

Wow! Well this certainly makes me want to upgrade mine. Mine still sits with factory features. Sounding like the pinsound is a must

#41 5 years ago
Quoted from BoJo:

Or it could have been originally intended to go abroad and customer cancelled order last minute. Doubt the factory would double back after build. No way to conclusively know, on this one.

Quoted from cheshirefilms:

The sticker inside the cabinet will tell you if it was a reimport or not. From the looks of the transformer connector being spliced into for some reason i would say reimport..

#43 5 years ago

Maybe the playfield isn't original and was replaced? I didn't think many of these went directly into homes from the factory.

Decals could have been replaced too.

Would like to see the wiring behind the dmd to see if it's condition matches the rest of the game.

Kind of irrelevant since it's sale pending, but it is interesting to try to piece together a game's history.

Overall, a nice game that I'm sure the buyer will be happy with.

Maybe, but a very deep rabbit hole and welk above my abilities to diagnose. Never advertised home use only. Prefer not opening the door to conspiracy theories.

Where would it end..every nice game's a possible redecal and playfield swap without a receipt.. seems incredible unlikely on a B+ title and I see no signs on either count but hey anything's possible

I don't know about other BSD owners - I just can't imagine letting this classic pin slip out of my collection. I know "never say never," (and I'd sell if I had to for reasons outside of my control), but when you look at pinball these days, there's a really distinct delineation happening between pins that are truly collectable based on their uniqueness, natural age, and representation of an era... and those that are currently being manufactured, many of which are being manufactured in ways to force collectability.

Man, BSD just ticks off so many true collectability boxes, not to mention its a killer game.

#47 5 years ago
Quoted from IdahoRealtor:

I see. I won't jinx it then.

Still have another in line but original buyer backed out- feel free to reach out if interested.

Buyer's expectation was that this game was 10/10- I think he misunderstood my ad.
Did not want to disappoint him, so we mutually agreed to part ways.

As stated in ad, this game is a 9+ all around.
I think the new owner will be very happy if their expectations are awesomeness.

For me its a mixed emotion decision to sell it- no question.
Can't tell you how many times I flip/flopped about even wanting to sell it in my mind.
In the end- decided that if someone else would love it at least as much as I have,
Going all in- as I have- then it should go to that home.
Till then, it should stay.

for that price, how could you not sell it???? id hand deliver it and cook them supper!

Quoted from ccbiggsoo7:

I know I've sunk in a lot into this game. I understand my price is high.
Even at ask price- I wouldn't suddenly make a great profit.

You know how they say don't go over the top on B-list games? I didn't listen this time
Maybe- subconsciously- I wanted to price it out of being sold, by spending way too much on it.
Force myself to actually collect for a change.
I have never really kept a game long term, after all.

That said- the original buyer had no issues with the price- at all.
He just couldn't resolve his perfectionist nature, and didn't want to spend another $2500+ to clearcoat and redecal it,
Because the decals would show even the faintest sign of wear- beneath where the plastic protectors touch.

His plan was to take off the plastic and put on metal ones. Hoping for zero sign of wear beneath.
I just can't compete with such things on an original game.
