GLWS. Nice looking!

I was under the impression that its coming just dont know if its next or in two years down the road. Seems like the sale of these lately indicate sooner rather than later.

#7 1 year ago

Beautiful!!.....probably the best looking game ever made!

#8 1 year ago

BBBr is probably on the short list of remakes but who knows. It may be several years or nadda. Things happen and we know how hard it is to make pins. This is the real deal though

#9 1 year ago

Personally, I have doubts about BBBr ever being remade, despite Planetary's claims of possible remake. But I'm speculating as we all are.
I miss my BBB having sold it several months ago, but after a decade of ownership, it was time to move along.

Very best wishes to seller and eventual buyer.

#10 1 year ago

Apparently BBBr is being made but the real money is on MB coming out next. Ultimately this is an original and when you think about why this game is popular it's not the quality of the play, layout, etc - it's the rarity. In the event BBBr is remade, sure it's more available but its not the original.

GLWS!

Thanks for the kind words. Its one of my favorite pins (as you can see). One of the best looking and sounding games of all time. Its on the same level of gameplay difficulty as Scared Stiff with tongue and cheek type of comments.

Technically this is a remake as well and it just depends how you look at it. The originals fetch a lot more then this.

If kingpin can get remade so can and will BBB. Now is def the time to sell.

Kingpin hasn't been remade yet, not even close. The one at TPF was built mostly from NOS parts. The CM group hasn't really remade one yet IMO.

Also, as it's been discussed here, I don't believe PPS has the Capcom rights, Rick just wants you to believe they do.

Actually, it's more of a mix of the above. The game is certainly fun and has some quirky humor. It wouldn't sell for as much as it sells if it was a dog. It's the 'rare' mix of a cool game with very limited availability.

I think a remake @ $8K is a lot for the game though. It's not up there with MM, AFM, MB, CC, etc. If PP could somehow get the price of BBB down to the $6K pricepoint as the entry level model and use the $8K point as an LE model with all sorts of goodies, I think the game would sell like gangbusters.

I've heard that BBB was coded in C and the source code was available. If they can port the code to work on new hardware, they could *possibly* get the original BBB out the door for $6K ... they could then contract out for an "enhanced BBB" with new gameplay, features, etc for $8K (i.e. add an autolauncher, PLEASE! ).

I don't think the original prototypes or the IPB produced ones will suffer substantial price drops from a remake ... collectors will always seek them out.

Unfortunately, the CM group hasn't even finished their first game yet but they are trying. There's a long way to go from a proto to production and in the hands of pinheads.

So this is a remake as well? Thought this was the original....guess not.

#18 1 year ago

No, this is not an original prototype. 13 are alive and well. 1 BBB and 1 Kingpin protos burned up in a collectors house fire.

This was made with the parts Capcom had made for the production run minus some items (cabinet, playfied etc.) Read the story here https://goo.gl/DMWiko There were about 191 made.

If it is your favorite game and you have a tattoo of it, why are you selling? If you just need money, you have plenty of other games to sell. Perhaps you believe the remake is likely too?

Personal reason actually.

Congrats! I was going to add that even if a remake is inevitable, there is probably someone that to them having an "original" and having it now is worth a premium.

I was accused of this also after selling mine and I understand how people mistakenly connect dots on Pinside.
But consider that hAbO and I were both original owners since 2007. I'll not speak for him but a decade of ownership is by far the longest I've had any pin.

people love to play matlock around here. How about the guy just wants to sell the damn pin? Glad it sold and quick!

As a gamer, I always prefer the best version to play as I think remake games can have their code polished.
So I will go with BBBr rather then original.

There's potential in a remake but having a physical game to play is less riskier.

And there you have it. The next licensed pinball machine will be titled "Matlock". You heard it here first, folks.

How much for the arm with the tatoo?

How much for the arm with the tatoo?

It was 4 sessions, 4 hours a piece for $1600. I can put it in my will to remove it from my arm and give it to you - LOL

I'll hang it proudly in my game room.

#37 1 year ago

It is all just timing the market. I would sell something if I thought it was at peak value and up for a drop in the near future as well. It's not like there's a need to protect someone with an extra 16 grand to drop on a toy. They can probably figure it out. My bad for saying anything.

Very cool tattoo. Some female years ago posted a link on RGP of their BBB tattoos...wish I would have archived the photos..never could find them again. They were great like yours!

Lew the trademark you linked to is not "the Capcom rights". At best it's one small piece of them. Read the story linked to by the OP. It's noted in the story that Gene bought some stuff that may or may not have included "the Capcom rights" and later sold some or all to one or more parties and the agreements and/or exercise thereof ended up in court in multiple lawsuits. Ownership of "the Capcom rights" is a convoluted mess. It seems likely that multiple people or entities think they own some or all of them now.

Until there is enough money involved for the parties involved to sort it out we'll probably never know.

Thanks for the compliment and thanks for making those cool BBB neon's a while ago!

Nice game. I could care less if they make 500 or 1000 more, mine won't be leaving. The monetary value doesn't matter to me since I'm not selling but I respect that others want to get what they can. Someone should be happy with that one.

#43 1 year ago

Nice Game. Congrats on the sale.
