Game - for sale

For sale: 1973 Williams OXO

Added: 2017-12-27 23:00:00 UTC • Re-listed: 1 time (February 16th, 2018) • Ended: February 24th, 2018
Condition: Fully restored (full original status)

Price

$ 1,500

Top down restoration. Essentially a showroom piece. Everything and I mean everything 100% disassembled, overhauled, cleaned, polished, reassembled and functions as originally designed.

Here's a summary of what was done:
PF restoration touch-ups, airbrush then 2-part auto clear-coat polished and waxed
New repro BG
New PF tempered glass
All exposed metal parts mirror polished (siderails, lockdown, coin door, wireforms, screws, shooter rod, rollover switches etc)
New rubbers
Cabinet fleck painted and stenciled - no scratches, scuffs or dings
Legs and coin door paint matched blue to cabinet color (which I normally don’t do but couldn’t resist with this title)
All relays, coils, steppers, motors and score reels completely dis-assembled, cleaned, polished and Teflon gel lubed.
Flippers, pop bumpers and slingshots rebuilt.
All switch stacks tightened, cleaned and gapped.
Plastics original and none cracked or broken.

Very reliable & fast game with good EM strategy. Plays without errors. Includes schematic, extra scorecards and original manual. This is a desirable title (Rated number 3 in the Pinside EM top 100). I’ve seen these posted for less $$ but price reflects the condition. Let me know if you have questions or would like additional pic's.

Man do I have reservations about parting ways with this one…but I’m outta space.

I like cash on the glass, but would consider shipping to a well behaved pinsider that makes all arrangements.

Price $1,500

I'm not interesting in buying it but it looks beautiful.

#5 6 years ago

What a beautiful game!

Just curious, where did you get that repro backglass? Don't mean to nitpick or rain on your sale, but the back side all black and white looks wrong.

#7 6 years ago

Beautiful looking OXO! Wish I could afford it.

I can understand that. OXO is a great fun and fast game. I haven't been seeing any for sale lately...

Nitpicking is ok here, and agree it is not exactly true to original. I direct to glass printed the BG and took some artistic photoshop license to make the colors pop a bit more. This game is just too out there for mellow tones.

Thx Pecos. We had a family meeting and this one got voted out of the basement. Can't keep them all.....

Well I guess I wish I had those skills.

Reason I asked is I bought a game with a supposed repro, and it was just inkjet paper or something like that glued to the glass, but it had the same black and white on the back. And light had a hard time spreading and showing thru. Very disappointing.

Anyway GLWS!

Yeah this is a real digital printed backglass and this process renders really "warm" looking colors when back-lit. I do have the original BG that is kinda beat up and I could take pics of them side by side if anyone is curious.

Very nice, a labour of love and it shows!

Can you elaborate on this process?

Looks fantastic!

Wish my OXO looked like this. You got a great looking machine, does it play as good as it looks?

Yes it plays wicked fast! I'm not much into old school but this game has proven to me that EM doesn't suck. No offense meant to old school......

Looks fantastic!

I have periodic access to an industrial printer at a local shop that ink jet prints with UV curing inks, of which I do not have specifics other than they are designed for glass. This particular one needed 6 passes - 2 color layers, 2 white, 1 black mask and a clear topcoat. So between scanning, photoshop editing, glass cutting and prep, file rip and printing we're talking major time, around 30 to 35 hours on this one. Props to cpr, bgresto and others that actually do this type of work for a living...you need alotta patience and alotta test prints to get it to look right since color behaves much differently on glass than white paper.

I wish I was closer to C-town. Any interest in a partial trade for Maverick?

Thx but that one's not on my list right now. If it's still available next month I'll probably bring it to the Ohio show.

Partial trade? What's a Maverick going for these days?

C'mon man. You know it all depends on condition. I mean that's like asking, "What's an OXO go for these days"?
