I have owned another Stern with the light kit and another game from JJP. I have to say, the Stern lighting is underwhelming and a gimmick for me, sure it makes the pf brighter but ultimately I didn’t really see the light show as it sits too high in the cabinet, far away from my line of sight and away from the ball.
Jjp did a much better job here, the lightbars are low and they really change the mood of a game (tiki multiball, best light-show I have seen in pinball)
So in short, although they are nice to have I know I don’t need them as they didn't add much - again for me - and it is not enough to pick a premium title over a pro on that reason alone.

I agree with you. Expression lights really don’t add that much to actually playing the game and you kind of zone them out after a bit.
They look best in attract mode to me. We have them on a zeppelin, I’ve been tempted to put them on a Rush but $500 has held me back as I’m not in love with them.

If you order the heavier duty pieces from Marco they come super fast.
That lighting sequence at 4:15 ish in the video is really sharp .They illuminate like its guiding you straight up to the right ramp arrow .Very nice touch by the team I must say

I put mylar on the inlanes. Its one of many sterns where the ball drops right on the cut out for the switch. I saw no other areas that looked like they weren't protected from the factory.

Cutting the stainless later today or tomorrow but im still waiting on the new colour acrylic to come in to replace the factory clear one. If you guys just want the stainless only and no new plastic i can include a cut gel like what i did in my pictures. The nice thing about the new plastic is that you will get a coloured edge showing below the stainless.

could you make a flourescent green plastic that's just like the stainless version? I'd like to see the ball horshoe around..put the green plastic with the FF cutout under the factory plastic..if that's an option, please sign me up!

This evening I should have a prototype completed with lighting, for the BOMB! I call it the ABZ (alien bug zapper!) in it will be a RED SMD to light the Red Fiber Optic tube up the center and a GREEN 0805 SMD to light the Mix Chamber.
Can't wait to see it in the LE.... once it ships. having a blast on the PRO though.

Update.. I'm an idiot. There's actually an insert that lights up where the foot pedal is. I didn't notice it until today. So there isn't any unused wiring in the deadpost area.

The kits come with a node board and wiring under the pf that mounts to the cabinet. Because it's a node board that is programmed by the code and that communication isn't fully cracked yet, I don't see how you get around it on a Pro.

I agree , just if something small (easy fix) comes up that would take a day or two to remedy before sending them out maybe it would benefit them to hold them .No biggie either way .So how busy has your pro on location been so far ? This doesn’t look like a game I would throw $1 in and walk away
Per distributor today, no word on le yet which is odd if we’re in line last week. Prob be next week now.
Stern email said LE deliveries by the 21st at the latest. Talked to customer service yesterday, was told the end of the month…we shall see…

I rewatched the video from last week and noticed they were all export models, single coin slot.

Stern sent an update today saying it is taking longer to build the export games than expected and they are continuing those this week, and hope to build the domestic LEs next week. They are going to ship out the backordered headphone kits too, so if you didn't already find one elsewhere we should be able to install one in your LE.

I plan to make something similar out of clear plexiglass. I like to be able to see the ball as well. Cheers.
