I snapped off the threaded bolt while tightening the nut on a coil stop on drop target mech. Problem is there is little room on the other side for a head so looking to find a flush or near flush thin headed to use. Any ideas? The original came factory welded to the mech bracket and is virtually flush.

No, that's too thick. What I need must have a razor thin head otherwise the drop target will hit it. I found this at Marco-https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/20-9468

Looks like what I need. Never heard of a PEM stud. Anyone know what that is intended to be used for?

Yea I looked it up too. Apparently requires a press to set it into the metal. But I'm thinking I could hammer one in or once I start tightening the nut it will squeeze in tight.

    PEM Studs:

They are press fitted into a hole.

You could try spot welding a flat head screw and gring off the excess where necessary.

So I now have learned what the official name of this style bolt/stud - press in ground stud/bolt. PEM is the brand name. They require expensive presses to press into the metal. Has anyone hammered one of these in before?

I would try and hammer it in with a flat punch.

I found these aluminum flat head screws in the screen door hardware section. Flat enough to avoid catching the drop target movement. And while not as strong as a steel bolt, should do the trick with lock washer and nut.
