I had some controlled lamps on a Capt Fant that were lit when the game turned on. The only relation they had to each other was they were attached to the same bus wire (bare braid). Some were bright and some were dim and eventually they didn't light at all.

Did some searching thinking there was a short somewhere and discovered a place where 2 strands of braid were connected to a pop lamp. I must have missed one side when I rebuilt the pop. Connected them and the offending lamps went out.

So can anyone give me an explanation of why this happens? Not the wiring error, that's on me. But why the machine acts this way in this condition.

Thanks

Did you separate the strands when you reattached them, or solder the pair together to a socket lug?

I soldered them back together. The 2 ends we're joined where they connected to a pop lamp socket leg
