    It's a BD250C, 100V 25A, more than adequate for this job. Leave it.

    You need to read ALL of the information on parts. Some is pretty meaningless like the 'T217' which could be the facility from which the part came or the day of the lunar eclipse - who knows, BUT when you read ALL of the information you quickly read "BD250C" which is a much more sensible transistor sounding number.
