    Hey Djshakes

    Quoted from Djshakes:

I'm examining the schematics and also trying to research on line and I can't find anything that lists what each TIP-102 is for on the fliptronics board.

Unfortunately there is no one listing that provides this information, but it can be obtained from piecing together information from a couple of sources.

Starting with the manual wiring diagram, you can see that the flipper is powered by the Fliptronics board via a GRY/YEL wire leaving J907-6 and 7. Since there is only one left flipper this is likely correct (more on this later); you can also see that the Flipper coil return for Power is a BLU/GRY wire (J902-9) and Hold is an ORG/BLU wire (J902-7).

This is confirmed by the Flipper Schematic for the left Flipper(s) which also shows the Left Flipper HOLD is controlled from J902-7

Information that is good to know but should have little bearing on your problem. As you can see in diagram above, the power wires for upper and lower flippers are the same color as they are derived from the same source; but, here's the rub. For games with both upper and lower flippers, the production worker standing at the pin board building these harnesses had two wires that were identical but landed at different places on J907...because of this, there is no guarantee that these wires are in the right places on J907 which would have no effect on the machines operation, but would reverse which fuses power the two flippers. I have seen these miswired more than once.

    Now back to your issues...

Since you know the Flipper power control is on J902-9 and the hold is on J902-7, you now need to consult the Fliptronics Schematic:
As you can see in the diagram below, the hold coil (J907-7) is controlled by Q9 (just like zaza said) and the power side (J902-8 and 9) is controlled by Q3 a stronger TIP36C driven by a TIP102 at Q10.
