I am helping a friend with his Data east Jurassic Park. He has a lower right flipper that stops working every once and a while. However, the upper right flipper always works!

Also, whenever the lower right flipper stops working, I test it in the diagnostics switch test mode, and the switches work 100%.

Another odd thing that he claims, is that when he mashes the button a bunch the flipper coil will eventually fire and star working again.

Any advice on what to test and look for?

Also, any advice on what isn't wrong based on the info I provided would be useful.

Thanks for your advice guys. I basically followed the entire path of power between flipper switches to boards to coil (including EOS switch on flipper). Cleaned contact points. Moved wires. Re-soldered in a couple of places. Reseated molex connectors on cabinet flipper board.

Seems to work fine (for now). We played 10 games and the problem didn't pop up. Knock on wood. Only time will tell if it is fixed for good. I just want my buddy to have a trouble free game for his first machine.

I hate fixing something ... and not quite knowing how I did it. I was never able to produce the problem myself. Intermittent problems are annoying.
