I am working on various brand machines and I think that the flipper travel or sweep, in terms of degrees, may be off. Looks like some of the bracketry that would limit the travel, has been naturally bent or even altered.

So is there a specific spec for the amount of sweep for flippers?
Can it vary from pin to pin even under the same manufacturer?
Does each manufacturer have a specific number?

    Thanks

Sweep is controlled by the coil stop and plunger. As they get worn the sweep gets longer. Rebuild the flippers with new coil stops and linkage to get proper sweep.

Different manufactures and different years have different sweep.

Would they limit travel by a bracket or would they cut the length of the plunger that the coil actually pulls? I've wondered about this actually. Do they sell various length plungers for flipper coils or are they all standard?

There are lots of different lengths specific to the year and manufacturer. That's why there are so many different rebuild kits.

On a Bally pin it was 45 degrees. To properly set the flipper line the center tip of the flipper up with the small indentation on the playfield.
