Classic problem with no fix yet.

When you turn on my Elvis 2004 the bottom right flipper would fire and stay charged till fuse blows. So I replaced Q 16, made sure coil and diod are good.

Now I turn on machine, flipper coil does not fire or stay charged and fuse is good. But will not work during play or diagnostic test. I did run a wire from ground and then touched Q 16 and coil does fire!

Diagnostics says replace IO board or Replace CPU board? Not ready for that yet without a fight. Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you,

First thing to check is that you didn't damage a through-hole or trace when replacing the transistor. Check through board and across board conductivity with a DMM.

Elvis had shoddy flipper cabinet buttons that were prone to flaking/chipping. Make sure that switch is in good shape.

I apologize but I am not sure how to check. How would I do that?
The transistor is showing correct voltage.
