Optos probably aren't your issue.
I'd concentrate on the flipper bat having the right amount of up and down play, not too much, not too little. So the plunger pulls the pawl in a straight line.
Then go over the coil stop and the bracket holding the front of the coil. See if they are lined up straight. And not misformed, I've seen coil stops leaning out a little at the top and this can bind the coil plunger workings when ever it feels like it.
The optos - remove them and turn 180 degrees.
