Space Invaders
Bally, 1980The left flipper on my space invaders machine has gone crazy. When I hold down the flipper button the flipper will chatter or do a rapid fire motion and will continue to do this till I let go. Has the coil gone bad or is there something I could do to stop this from happening.
Sounds like a coil issue. Visually inspect it and look at the copper wires that go to the lugs. Is one broken?
some times when the coil wire break is internal (not at lugs) you can see the sparking thru the coil wrapper if it is dark enough
machine gunning flipper = bad coil most of the time
