Had a game sitting in storage for a few months. Just got it setup again, and playing.
Noticed that both flippers are sluggish to return to the default position.
Any thoughts? It's a new game, purchased in January, played for a few months, then stored for a few. Strange that both flippers are behaving this way at the same time, no?

Was wondering if I should use an Allen key to loosen the bolt, that's centred in the pic below.

Thoughts?

What game is it? I don't see a return spring?

Loosen that bolt and you are in a world of hurt. You'll be taking a lot apart to put it back together. Don't take anything apart until you study a bit.

Read Vid's guide - your plungers or coil sleeves may need a good leaning or rebuilding. Stored or not, they were probably slowing down before storage.

Yep, it was hidden but it's there.
Could be they've weakened? It's a Walking Dead Premium FYI.

Could be, but I'd remove the coil stop and slide the coil off and inspect a little deeper.

Thanks Lloyd.
Seems as though there's a little slack there, and they're not too tight, so I won't touch that for now. Almost needs a little oil or grease, just to loosen it up?
I'll read Vids guide next. Thanks!

NEVER EVER do that.

I would pull the coil sleeves....clean the sleeves and the shafts up a little bit.

As you can tell, I know SQUAT about pinball tech issues... but I do know enough to ask before taking the plunge.

Thanks again.

I respect you for that !

Yep. Took the coil off. The springs are still barely strong enough to draw the arm back, even without any friction from the coil.
Guessing I need a couple new springs is all. Sucks though as it will likely take me days to get them.
Oh well, cheap problem I think I can fix myself. Could be a WHOLE lot worse.

Thanks guys!

Take the old spring off, on one end, clip off about a 1/4 inch of the wound spring, bend the last loop of the spring over so you have a new loop/hook to use. You'll be good to go.

Or try bending the tab up a bit that is holding the spring near that switch.

Yeah just shorten the springs, then order new ones if it makes you feel better.
