Need some help figuring out what's wrong with the right side flippers on a space invaders. Both could were replaced as the original were burned up indicating a prior problem. I checked the fuses none blown. What happens is where. You press the flipper button you can hear and see the lower coil engage a little but nothing else. The other right flipper does not do anything. I checked for anything blown on the solenoid driver board and it seems good. I swapped j1 and j2 to see if it was just a wire issue and smae problem happens. I'm stumped.

that has the linear shaft correct ? does it move freely by hand ? is the flipper bat dragging on the playfield or the shaft binding in the coil sleeve & nyliner bushing ?

when you said both flippers were replaced I am guessing just the coils or did you do a complete rebuild ?

on my Kings of Steel an upper flipper is driven by a 2'nd EOS switch on the lower flipper, if the lower flipper doesn't flip, neither will the upper one

I recently fixed a binding issue on my KoS & might be the case with yours or could be the EOS switch making good contact

Quoted from marcgans:

The other right flipper does not do anything

this has to be a blown fuse pull out fuse and test with meter,or transistor that drives that coil is bad/shorted test with meter.

Take a picture of the coils and eos. Lets see the wiring

Sounds like the EOS switch in the bottom is open so that you are only getting the ´hold’ coil engaged instead of the main coil. Because it’s not flipping the full swing it’s not turning on the upper flipper with the second EOS switch.

Get clear pictures of the EOS switches with flipper off and manually pushing the flipper to end of its stroke.

I don’t mean to hi-jack the OP post but this seems to be dead on the vine and I’m experiencing the same issue on both upper flippers. Here are pics of the new power board as well as all the flippers and switches. Please help!!

If the lower flippers are working then your power board connection is fine.
The way the upper flippers energize is via a break/make switch on the lower flipper. The lower flipper has 2 switches. The EOS and the make to the upper energize. The normally closed EOS breaks at about 75% of the flip and the make closes right after.

The brown wire that delivers the 43v to the flipper coils should be present at all 4 flippers. The green and orange wires that energize the lower flippers reach the upper flipper through the make switch. This prevents the game from trying to flip 3 or 4 flippers at once.
Sounds complicated but it's really simple wiring once you trace it out. Here is how it's shown on the schematic:pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png
