I have the first version without the movement in the portal beam. I love it and the backglass has a more 3D effect with the hues given off by the LEDS. What else do you want to know about it? Basically its a backpanel with strings of colored LEDS strategically placed that gets installed in place of the fluorescent bulb.
The remote changes the effects of the backglass lighting. You get sweeps or fades, or a bunch of effects. I found the one I like and never changed it again.

What does the remote control do? How many changes can it make? What size is it?
