So, I want to upgrade the sound on my new machine, but I want to make sure that I do it right. I'm not the most tech savvy person on the planet, so while I'm sure that there are better options, these two seem the best suited for me. I've read a lot of people really think that the upgraded FF speakers make a ton of difference, and I've seen other reviews that don't seem as convinced. The Pinovator kit for using an external sub seems good because it is fairly plug and play. So, what do you guys think, is one option better than the other? Do they make a noticeable difference? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    No opinions?

Both options give better bass response than the stock speakers. If you want to feel the bass nothing beats an external sub.

I have ff speakers in most of my games and an external sub to 2 of my games that I wanted to feel the bass.

No need for anything but speaker wire for the external sub.

I would do the sub, but the best experience is kinda both, or at least adding the L-Pad along with the sub

I was worried about overloading something if I just use speaker wire. I know that you can use alligator clips around the machines built in sub and feed the wire through the bottom of the cabinet to the external sub, but then wouldn't the two speakers be sharing power? I figured that the Pinovator kit prevented that problem.

Nope no problem. I've been using an external sub with alligator clips/speaker wire to the sub for years. You can drive 2 games off one external sub too, no problem.
