Hi everyone!
I'm doing a restoration of my bride of pinbot and I am going to replace the speakers with a flipper fidelity kit I bought. It's the one for wpc89 games.
I'm new to pinsound and have a couple of questions that someone out there might be able to answer...
The first questions are about the backbox speaker panel:
1. One of the holes in the panel, where the tweeter was originally, is to small for the new speaker. Should I cut it wider to make it almost flush with the new speaker or is that overkill? If it too small I think the airflow will get reduced but not sure how much it will impact the sound.
2. There is a choke/coil to filter out the bass tones wired to the old tweeter. Should I keep it with my new speaker or remove it? The new one is not a dedicated tweeter but looks like an allround spectrum speaker... The kit can be found on the net if you google flipper fidelity wpc89 kit.
Next is about the cabinet bottom speaker:
Is it ok to mount it directly on the cab bottom like the original was mounted or do I need to use a slacer to bring it up a bit for better airflow? The cone does not get in contact with the speaker grille if I put it there without the spacer but just want to hear opinions...
For a longer explanation and some pics please check page 23 of my restoration thread:

Thanks in advance and hope someone can and would like to help me out!
