Quick one this, hopefully...

Have bought a couple of Flipper Fidelity speaker upgrade kits, have only just arrived today so not had a chance to even open the boxes. Rather naively I thought they would be 100% plug and play, but looking at the instructions online it looks as if I have to cut the wires from the factory sub and crimp connectors onto them?

This is going to sound ridiculous - but how easy is that? I'm pretty sure I don't have a crimping tool. Would I be better off soldering the wires back onto the FF sub bearing in mind I can't think of a reason I'd ever take it out again.

Any gotchas I should be aware of when trying to crimp connectors onto the existing wiring? It looks very thin..

Sorry for such a mundane question.

Real easy to do. Cut wire, strip about 1/4 inch of insulation off the end of the wire. You can either solder direct to the speaker or crimp on the supplied connectors to the wire and then connect to the speaker. I find it is easier to take the plastic shield off the supplied connectors and just crimp on the metal connector to the wire.
