If you can find another location, I'd definitely vote with my feet. Especially if you're a large group. I'd say that your request was reasonable, considering you were about to bring a group there for a tournament. If he really feels like the changes would impact his bottom line in the long term, he could very easily have gone back after your event and set his machines back. Don't argue any further with him, just walk away. Preferably to a competitor, he'll get the message.
