    Quoted from Flynnyfalcon:

    Thinking the microswitch

Looks like a wiring issue. Diode is on backwards, and then white wire goes to other lug.

Should be : White wire/black end of diode- Green wire ------------then farther away silver band end of diode.

The switch body is marked on one side or the other.

White wire and black end of diode goes to NC ( normally closed )
Green wire goes to NO ( normally open )
Silver band end of diode goes to C ( common )

I found this which states my setup is correct??

Your picture of your switch, doesn't look right. It looks like you have the two lugs close together, the outside gets white wire and black end of diode, middle lug green wire, then the lug farther away the silver banded end of diode.

Easy to check the letters on your switch to see if it's right or not.

Your two green wires into the connector. Is one pulled out not making a good crimp with the other ?

If all good, then check continuity to board in the head, see if you have a break along the way.
