Actually, this is caused by the ball hitting the guiderail for many years to cause it to no longer align with the flipper surface. You cannot change the position of the flipper but only the guiderail.
First thing to try is to loosen the screws (do not completely unscrew) and you should be able to move the rail higher. You can test a free roll of the ball by hand placing in the middle of the rail.
If its placement works, tighten down the screws pretty hard.
Then play for a while to see if it takes OK.
However, if wear or "mushrooming" occurs on the metal, then you will need a new part to sufficiently have the ball high enough not to 'trip' on its way down.
Has anyone remade a perfect fit for these?
