Quoted from nicknack66:Anyone ever have a flipper base plate just break into two pieces? I was playing my T2 this evening and the right flipper suddenly stopped working. I lifted the playfield and the right flipper base had broken into two pieces with the bent piece by the bumper plug totally broken (the metal had totally separated/broken off). Also, should I buy a new base (about $10) and move everything else from the existing flipper over, or is that a pain and I am better off just buying an entirely new flipper assembly (about $43, at least at Pinball Life)? I'd obviously like to spend less, but not if saving the $30 or so buck is going to cost me a lot of time and frustration. I've done some basic flipper repairs like replacing coils and mechanics on my Williams System 6, but never had to essentially rebuild one, particularly one with a capacitor like the flippers on the T2 have. Thanks.
Had this happen to my Congo at Expo the flipper plate actually broken in half...It's up to you on transfer or replace, whichever you are more comfortable with. If you are comfortable with basic flipper rebuild then transfer...if not buy the whole assembly. I would just get the flipper plate and transfer everything.
