I think you have really stepped up the level on this one and you will NEVER be happy if you leave it as is (you are AR like me ).
I would ask a more important question that will help you decide:
Is this a long term keeper? If so, will you care if the head is not to your best standards? If not, will a future owner care?
I say after this much work then you should do the head also (based on the fact that you must also have a nice place and the ability to paint and screen which is a limitation for me during cold months)

Do you have a big ultrasonicator?
I have a small one and next big tool purchase will be an extra large one to help with big mechs.
