Nine Ball. Sounds like the last switch in the trough could be shorted or pinned wrong in the connector.

Try replacing the diodes on the micro switches and the leaf switch.

Quoted from Mitch:

I'd this was the case it would reset after the first ball, you can play 4 balls no problem, you can even lock 2 balls on the playfield and the game will still reset when you drain ball 4.

I'm thinking the reset is actually a slam tilt. When the game resets is it the same behavior if you trigger a slam tilt? If so I would suspect something going on in the row or column that the slam tilt is in.

The correct clock speed is the slower one isn't it? They should be on the left for a stern game

No. Fast.

Yes. MPU200 which is fast.

Quoted from Mitch:

OK it's working perfectly now. I had the jumper set to stern mpu 200 and it was running slow, moved the jumpers to the right for stern bally mpu100 and the game runs faster now and works perfectly, even the menu works now. Wondering if the alltech jumper printing is wrong.
This is how I have it set now and the lights pulse faster and the game works perfect.

Interesting. Seems like something is pinned differently on the switch connector. I know this isn't your game, but I was going to suggest putting in 4 balls and see if it plays normally. I'm guessing if the first switch in the trough is always closed it would be fine.
