I have a Flash Game that the 5 bank of drop targets on the side will not reset during game play after they have all been hit, when you start a new game they will reset, but only then, any ideas???

In switch test, do any of the switch numbers 32 - 38 show?

It's been a while since I've worked on one of these, but I believe there's a circuit that's daisy chained through all of the targets and is completed when all targets are down. So even though all targets may score when dropped, the software doesn't know they are all down until the circuit is completed.

These use the horseshoe shaped wipers on the targets which are problematic. You will probably need to tear the bank apart, clean circuit boards and inspect for wear, clean the wipers and make sure none have broken off.

Those horseshoe drop target contacts on this era game are a PITA to get right. The drop target has a horseshoe shaped contact riveted to each one. On each drop is a sort of circuit board with solder pads that the horseshoe makes contact with at three locations, full up (reset), midway down (points) and bottom (dropped).

All the pads need to be clean and the horseshoe needs to make contact all the way down. If the drop doesn't score points or won't reset, you need to find which drop(s) aren't making contact. Sounds like one or more aren't making contact at the dropped position.

Remove the circuit board for each drop, clean and adjust the horseshoes. Bend them too far one way and the horseshoes put too much drag and the drops drop slow or not at all. Bend too far the other way and they don't make good contact. It will take time to adjust them perfectly.

Also check all the wires and all the diodes too. If one wire breaks off or one diode is bad it will either not score points or reset.

I had the same issue with my machine and in the end it turned out that one of the horseshoe contact switches had a busted contact point, and, as stated in the previous 2 posts the machine fails to recognise completion of all the targets being down so it wont reset. Check all the shoes first and a good cleaning is a must !!

I'll second that.
Also, after cleaning I have found it useful to then use DeoxIT D100L to further clean and protect.

I've had a few broken horsehoe contacts and have used these as replacements
