i see it now , on the left side of the coil . the coil is just a bit wrinkled and its just the lighting that makes it look that way.

okay , i have the left coil soldered on and working on the right and upper right coil now.
the wires i have circled here go to the upper coil right?
why is the short yellow wire needed to connect 2 blades of the switch?

That switch serves a dual purpose. It is the EOS switch for the lower flipper while it is also the flipper button switch for the upper flipper. (The upper flipper has its own EOS switch at the upper flipper)

The EOS part is normally closed and opens at flipper extension while at the same time the upper flipper part is normally open and closes at flipper extension triggering the upper flipper. The yellow jumper is tying the two together.

okay finished soldering the coils. the wiring should be correct but let me know if they are not .
is there enough space between the contacts when the flipper is full extended?

What's going on with these wires? Are they shorted together or touching? Looks like it in your picture?

I would bend the tabs away from each other to create plenty of space.

the wires are not touching , here a better picture of it .
but everything else looks good?
i have the the black wire on the left of the switch attached to upper coils ground .
also the voltage wire on the lower coil should have a wire going from that to the upper coils voltage right?

The soldering on the white wire looks a bit sketchy........dry.

You might want to touch that up using some flux so the solder can run smoothly and make a reliable joint.

#60 2 years ago

okay , will touch it up some tomorrow.

i redid everything and turned it on . but it resets every time i flip the flipper buttons.
also the out hole kicker does not reset to its original position when it fires preventing the ball from going in the out hole.
but every other coil on the pinball works.
and the fuses are still good.
it read it could be a 5v issue from the power supply board so what do i need to check next.?

#62 2 years ago

i figured it out . the flippers now work without resetting the game.
there was a bad connection between the power board and the wires doing to the mpu.
it was the 3j6 plug . don't know if it was the plug or the pins in the board but it would be best to replace them.

i have learned many things was working on this pinball and to always check the schematic manual because the wiring and fuses currently in it could be wrong .
especially on a project .

Thanks everyone for helping me out .
i think i have nearly everything fixed on this pinball .
still need to do some more play testing .

Have you pulled off the power board? It is common to find cracked solder connections that need to be soldered at the connectors.

#64 2 years ago

i have not pulled it off yet but i will check for cracked soldered connections.

#65 2 years ago

been testing it some and some coils are a bit weak like the pop bumpers .
they need SA-23-900 coils but all pinball wizard site has is SA-23-850-DC .
would that work? what the difference in the numbers mean?
