Just got a fairly nice FG that I'd like to fix up best I can. My question is other than eBay where can one find parts, plastics, etc. for it? Any advice would be awesome, this is my favorite pin ever & I'd like to get it a nice as I possibly can. This is my dream pin & my permanent collection keeper. Help Please..

Try http://www.pbresource.com/ for bumper caps, drop targets, and probably more.

Agreed. I would try pinball resource. I bought all of my targets and bumper caps through PBR. I also bought the non-linear flipper mechs as this is the first thing I change on these classic ballys. Also bought new flipper bats at PBR. In terms of plastics, I think you will have to post a WTB for the specific ones you may need.

Just finished my second flash gordon full restore:
First Here
http://solidstatepinball.com/fgrestore.html
And second here
http://solidstatepinball.com/fggrestore.html

I'll send you the used parts I have for free. Probably nothing special, I know the clear plastics are bad. But since its your favorite, I'll even pay for shipping. Todd Scott

lostlumberjacks, I recently picked up a FG and plan a restore. Just wondered if you made or bought stencils and who did your playfield touch up and clear? Your machine looks awesome, beautiful job. What a difference on the playfield before and after, wish mine looked like that. I will most likely buy stencils as to save time, anyone out there have them for sale?

Also wondered if there are paint codes for the cabinet colors?

Planetary Pinball sells new playfields if you decide you want to do a swap in the future:

I did a playfield swap last year and it turned out great! Here's the thread detailing the progress:

PBresource is definitely the place to go for parts on this game. I did all new drops, pop bumper caps and wafers, older style flipper mechs, legs, lamp sockets, coin door skin, etc. on my game which were all purchased thru PBR. You can get little things like spinner decals from Ebay.

Treveism your FG looks awesome. Thats what Im talking about. Nice..

Yes I did make my own stencils. I used really think Mylar and traced with a stencil cutter. They could be used a hundred times if needed. The head took a long time to make the stencils. I used to do inlays so I guess I had the patience for it. Most people will buy them. I matched paint with color spectra chart.

Both fg's I restored had new playfields. It's a great game that is tough as nails. Very underrated game of classic Ballys. Should be Right up there with fathom and centaur in my opinion. Todd

If your circuit boards need serviced, I rebuild all of them except the sound board.
