I had a FG in very similar condition and DID remove the mylar, with much success, a few very small areas were overly slightly damaged, but I touched up, and afterwards was very happy with the results and was glad I did it.

Quoted from Mitch:

Heat while pulling it up, then alcohol after.... but I've had lots of experience and a full playfeild mylar on a 80s bally game wouldnt be a good place to practice and learn on a first try.
My flash Gordon has same playfield mylar as yours and I wont remove it.
Side note I've stopped using a heat gun as I found it gets to hot I prefer to use a good hair dryer on high setting.

I would be careful with the alcohol, it can discolor plastics. I prefer goo gone
