Recently picked up a FG and noticed flasher was disconnected. Connected and powered on. It did flash once and then had an “arc” inside tube. (I turned it off in case it would do damage to something, so I don’t know if it would flash again.) Is this normal?

Those Flash tubes had a very limited lifespan. If that's original it's probably bad but I do not think it can harm the game otherwise. Probably a good idea to leave it disconnected until you replace it.
