Flash Gordon Drop target issue

Hey guys, the single drop target on my Flash Gordon works maybe 5% of the time. After the ball is shot out it rolls over three rollover targets then about 2 seconds later a single drop target pops up. Mine hardly ever does this. Someone posted that the three targets need to be working for the target to pop up, and mine do. But I still got nothing.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Have you already re-pinned the machine? Might be missing either one or more of the rollovers or the output to ground the solenoid that raises the target. Or maybe your game thinks the target is always in the "up" position, that would be an adjustment of the switch on the drop target assembly.

Just guessing, mine did that too but I was thinking it was just the rollover not getting registered. I re-pinned all the connectors on the machine, always do for that age of game.

Did you test your rollovers with your fingers or a ball? Those rollovers MUST have good working caps on them in order for the machine to "see" the switch close.

I haven't repinned anything. Maybe it is something on the switch. I replaced the drop targets and the coil sleeves. Maybe I got the switch all jacked up. I will check when I get home.

Stupid question but if all the rollovers make a sound does that mean its registering them? I would think so.

You would think so, but there maybe be multiple switches on a single rollover, I seem to recall something special for the drop target like a switch with 2 contacts, it's been awhile.

Safest bet is to use the switch test and make sure they work all of the time.
