Hey everyone,

My TOM had a raised insert that was chipped at the top, and I noticed last night that the top piece of the insert has now come off. I was able to find it, but it's not the full piece. The piece is missing some of the top point, but it does have the part of the "L" that is missing in the photo.

So I'm wondering what I can do at this point to get the insert flush with the pf, and also get the it back to looking decent.

I'm pretty new to this hobby, and not the most technical, so something that is not too intensive would be best.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

Quoted from perryd:

If insert is available, best to pop that one out replace with similar one and do waterslide decal on it, spot clear it and your done!.
Otherwise if insert is not avail. you could try to keep playfield level fill with clear, then sand level, then add decal to it.
good luck

Do you mean inserts available such as these: http://bayareaamusements.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Store_Code=baa&Screen=PROD&Product_Code=GS-TOM777NL

Also, what sort of clear would you use for this application?

Vids stuff is always super informative. I read through a lot of it, but I think I have an idea as to how I could patch up the insert for the time being.

Would it make sense to heat up and bang down the insert so it's flush with the pf, and then put that cracked off piece of the decal back onto the inserts, and fill that top corner with some clear.

I've read a few things about clear kits that come with a black light that solidifies it? Would something like that work, and if so, does anyone have any recommendations?
