In travel, 5 leads on the left side snapped on one of my displays, tried soldering with glass on but no dice. Any safe way to take the glass off to solder then put glass back on?

I've heard of people that grind the glass around the pins to get a jumper on it. Never tried it myself but in desperation it might be viable. If you grind too far of course you will let the gas out and have to replace the display anyway.
On the plus side, there's tons of used viable replacements you can source the 7 digit glass from since it's numeric only.
There are tons of six digit displays. The seven digit displays are a little harder to come by. They are out there, just more expensive.
Also, if you want to replace your display set entirely, wolfpack has a kit:

You can likely sell off your remaining 4 displays to recoup some or nearly all of the costs - usually 7 digit displays are between $25-$50 used for people that want/need original.
