Pretty happy today. I fixed my desoldering gun . Fast forward past the part where i broke my desoldering gun, by knocking it off my workbench onto a concrete floor This broke part of the plastic back holder. At first it was cracked but then realized it was enough to lose suction. So i could melt the solder, just wouldnt suck it up.

Part was cheap but you need to open the housing to get the broken part out to replace it. Wasn’t too bad really. Just wasn’t excited to have to disassemble a realitively new and expensive tool.

Anyway back together and desoldering like a champ again. Good end to another week of work and thought i’d share

Mine doesn't suck as strongly as it used to, (which ironically, sucks but not in the good way.)

I've cleaned the chamber but it doesn't pull up old solder like it did when it was new.

Anyone else experience this, or have advice to improve the ability to pull up old solder?

Do you ever clean out the nozzle and tips?

Clean tip and nozzle. New filter and metal filter piece on the clear tube.

I need to run to work, someone posted a nice guide somewhere and I can't find it. I've had to fully disassemble the pump to get flux cleaned up. It is much easier than the photos in the link below. This appears to be a catch-all guide on their site. Specifically my valve plate was pretty gummed up. Just go slow and look for orientation notches on everything you take apart if the above things don't help.
