Just thought I would share a fix I did on the No Fear mountain.

The right side mounting hole was broken off. Someone had used a twist tie to secure it

Bought some $.99 molding clay and shaped it to what I thought would work.
I had some golf club shafting epoxy left over, so just mixed some of that up and poured it in the mold.
Stuck the broken side into the epoxy and let it set overnight.
Used the conical attachment on the Dremel to smooth the edges.
Broke out the air brush and used my extremely limited artistic abilities to add some rock-ness.
Gave the whole thing a quick Varathane.
Installed it

Not perfect, but for me it beats paying $40 for a new one.

good job. i'm sure it will work on other plastics.

In the future, if you want to make it stronger, add some fiberglass mesh (any Kmart or auto parts store) to the epoxy and it will be almost indestructible.

Rough up the backside of the existing mountain so the epoxy has something to bite into and let the fiberglass overlap onto it.

Nice fix. Funny, I just took the mountain off my NF last night and noticed it was taped on to the ball popper and has no screw holes...so I will be doing something like this shortly!

Quoted from TheLaw:

taped on to the ball popper

Ouch.

#24 12 years ago

Popper was having problems ejecting balls so i wanted to take a look at it. Get the socket out to remove the bolts and...umm...where are they? WTF electrical tape?!? Kind of funny actually.
I'll file that away when looking to buy my next pin..."Look for taped on plastics."

Finally got around to it. At first i tried the modeling clay and it worked decent. But the longer side I had epoxy'ed wrong...so the then I just sat the thing on wax paper and threw on a bunch of epoxy in a shape and let it dry. Then ripped of the wax paper, cut the epoxy to the shape I wanted, dremmeled, painted, applied. So thank for the original post mkgort!
