Hi All,

I have a mate with a Fishtales which was working perfectly, then suddenly the DMD started blanking out whenever animations appeared (ie: lock a ball, video mode, rock the boat, catch a fish etc). Gameplay and sound was normal, and the DMD would kick back in once the animation sequence had finished (i assume, since it was about the right length of time), and the score would display as per normal, until the next animation was to appear, and the DMD would blank out again.

I have replaced all the following components (only once at a time to try and isolate the issue)

EVERY ribbon cable (plus reseated them all multiple times)
MPU
DMD driver board

No change.

So i am thinking next step is replace ROM, then maybe DMD itself?

Any other suggestions as to what the problem might be, or what to replace or test?

Yep, display RAM test works fine - al swapped DMD driver boards in case this was an issue

OK, replacing game ROM was going to be my next step

Put my mates mpu and rom in a known good fishtales and it all works fine. So could it be tge dmd itself? Or maybe i try a 3rd dmd driver board?
