Anyone know why DMD on fishtails need warmup to light up all display pixels . When first turned on about half of pixels not lit. 15 min. Later working fine. Should I try unplughing input and replug?

If another DMD works 100% on start up...degas issue its on its last leg.
Time to get one from PBL or Mad $129 plus shipping.
The display is out-gasing. It will eventually stop working. The only problem, when they are in this condition they require and pull more power from the Power Supply. Known to cause connector and Power Supply failures. Time to change the DMD now.
Sorry to hear about your out-gasing problem. ) Uh the DMD's problem.
Good info. about what is happening with the DMD for us other forum readers.
Put a meter on the big connector when you turn the game and and check voltages. That will let you know if it's a power issues or DMD issue.

Yes, check the power supply voltage to the game. If it slowly creeps up to the correct voltage, it is most likely a power supply issue where an NPN is not saturating correctly. A friend of mine had this happen on an old Data East game.

v8 what the hell are you talking about?
My bsd has a small section in the upper right corner doing the same thing. Will that area just keep growing?
My first machine had this issue. I also thought they just had to warm up, after all every machine I've ever seen in an arcade had been running for months. However, as others have stated it's a sign that the display is going bad. I have a Fish Tales and I an assure you that it's full brightness once it's on.
