Hi guys. So I'm in the process of adding an LED pushbutton to my fish tales. As most of us know the prototypes had illuminated cast buttons, but productions models did not. However, they are still wired to support a light in the cast reel.

I picked up an LED momentary switch to use that will fit perfectly in the existing reel button location. I have a proper resistor so that the LED can operate on 12V.

My question is I don't know if I still need a diode for the new led button/switch. Here is the details on the one i purchased: https://goo.gl/Hrydc3

I have been reading through the article written here: http://www.dziedzic.us/cast_button.html but its a different button altogether and he used two diodes. I would love any help/guidance thanks so much.

Another idea is to just have the light always on and tap into the coin door 12v

Nice fiberdude120 I would love a pic of the wiring did you wire to the coin door?

Think I figured out the proper wiring, going to test it out and see.
