Hi guys. So I'm in the process of adding an LED pushbutton to my fish tales. As most of us know the prototypes had illuminated cast buttons, but productions models did not. However, they are still wired to support a light in the cast reel.
I picked up an LED momentary switch to use that will fit perfectly in the existing reel button location. I have a proper resistor so that the LED can operate on 12V.
My question is I don't know if I still need a diode for the new led button/switch. Here is the details on the one i purchased: https://goo.gl/Hrydc3
I have been reading through the article written here: http://www.dziedzic.us/cast_button.html but its a different button altogether and he used two diodes. I would love any help/guidance thanks so much.
