Just picked up my third FT and plan on keeping this one. It was on location at a bowling alley in S Florida and I understand one of the top ranked players in Florida lived nearby.
All the high scores are over a billion and ten rock the boats. Gonna be a while before I get on the high score board.

I got a Bronze, it's a beautiful playfield with nice clear coat. The Bronze flaw is this "angler fish" effect on the monster fishes head. I'm very happy with the playfield.

Great writeup on the wireform, mine sends the balls right down the middle a lot of the time and its frustrating. Going to see if I can get it tuned up.
Similar issue, on the occasion that Im able to blast the long cast loop clean 2 or 3 times in a row, the ball gets up enough speed that by the third loop the ball almost always goes right down the middle. Sometimes on the second loop if the ball is moving fast enough. Any of you have this issue and if so, have you been able to fix it?

Looks way cooler than that tiny little baby button.

What should someone expect to pay these days for a nice original FT with very little wear, slightly faded cab, shopped out and working 100%? Is 5 grand out of line?

My vote is for the teal. Blue is nice too but to me it kinda blends in with the blue on the playfield. Either is way better than red! And Black powdercoating looks great on this game.

Yeah whats this rod and reel mod all about?

I usually dont like powdercoating on Fish Tales, but that finish is awesome!

Quoted from KJS:

Well, one less original Fish Tales now as of yesterday!

Totally digging this! Looks good. Are there code changes?

#4489 2 years ago
Quoted from KJS:

No code changes, I've made the rule set and goals fit the original movie.

So you were able to change just the dots and music for the existing modes to be Jaws related modes? Thats awesome! How long did it take to make those changes? Also that harpoon gun is bad ass.

My FT has started to only release 2 balls during multiball. Keeps the third ball in the reel until both balls in play are lost, then does a ball search and ejects the last ball. Ran a reel opto test but not sure exactly how it is supposed to read with the open/closed. Says no errors during the test. Does this sound like an opto problem?

Can anyone detail the steps for the addition of the tournament start button to the reel.
I see there is a diode on the existing cast button, does that need to be transferred to the new button? And would like to know also how the new button is mounted inside the reel housing.
Thanks for any info.

Did this Stern tournament button swap, real easy just unsoldered diode and wires from the old switch and transferred them all to the switch in the Stern button, got a 1 3/8 machine bushing the same size as the original fender washer but with a 7/8 inside diameter hole to mount the new button in. Works great and I like it a lot better than the tiny little thumb button.

First thing i would do is check all the connectors on the boards and at the speakers

Try a reverse shot on the plunge, let it hit the left flipper then immediately smack it with the right flipper on the bounce. Gotta get the timing just right! I get it into the Casters Club 20-30 percent of the time that way. Sometimes you can loop the long cast repeatedly using this same technique which is super sweet to get three or four in a row.

Switch stuck in down position maybe?
